Eid ul Adha

The celebration marks the willingness of Nabi Ibrahim to accept the command of Allah Ta'ala', who in order to test his obedience asked Ibrahim to sacrifice his dearest son, Ismail (AS). Such was the unconditional love, devotion and sincerity of Nabi Ibrahim towards Allah that upon hearing the command, he prepared to submit to Allah's will. When he was all set for the sacrifice, Allah revealed to him that his "sacrifice" had already been fulfilled. Nabi Ibrahim was surprised to see that Ismail was unharmed and instead, he found a slaughtered ram in front of him. Nabi Ibrahim had passed the test by demonstrating his willingness to carry out Allah's command. This is not merely about history, it's about the lessons we can take from it for our daily lives. One of which is sacrificing and making effort towards that which pleases our Creator on a family level, as a community and beyond. In this regard we as a community will come together for the Eid al-Adha dinner this Saturday (Sept 24th) in order to commemorate Nabi Ibrahim's complete submission to Allah. Hope you can make it!
