Nabi ‘Isa ibn Maryam, Prophet Jesus son of Mary, (May Allah’s peace be upon him) is one of the five prophets of ‘strong resolve’. His name is mentioned twenty five times in the Quran. He was not killed nor crucified. Rather Allah, the most powerful and wise, had protected Prophet ‘Isa by raising him in both body and soul. Towards the end of time he will return and eventually pass away a natural death. The return of Nabi ‘Isa is counted amongst the ten major signs that will appear closer to the day of judgement. This is a well established fact that is found in verses of the Quran and Hadith reports that reach the level of ‘Mutawatir’ (mass transmitted reports that are undeniable).
Amongst the lessons one can learn from Prophet ‘Isa ( May Allah’s peace be upon him) are:
• Fairness and Justice.
• Concern and goodwill for community and humanity at large.
• Establishing cordial relations with all.
• Leaving grudges and ill feelings towards anyone.
