Our April Newsletter
Message from Imam Anver
Dear Community Members,
السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
I hope and pray that you are enjoying the blessed month of Ramadan and the associated enormous benefits of the special month – The month of the Quran and the Night of Power. Here are tidbits for this monthly newsletter:
Here comes Ramadan and now almost gone: We all seem to recall and have similar feelings, “Cannot believe how fast the month has passed by us”. Indeed, the days of Allah’s mercy, His forgiveness and securing protection from the fire do go by very quickly. As humans we typically long for what we do not have rather than appreciate what we have. As we are quickly passing through the last ten days, let us give this period a high priority and maximize our reward through increase ibadah (worship), khalwah (connecting with Allah) and charitable deeds. The last ten days has superiority over the first two ten days is like the month of Ramadan has over the other 11 months. One of the best ways of increasing our reward is to offer in charity for the sake of Allah as it will get multiplied by at least 49,000 times over. This includes Allah’s special favour to his ummah by rewarding one fardh deed equals to 70 times.
Our Townhome Project: Alhamdu-lil-laah, as stated previously we started the project on March 25th as planned. Demolition of the old place is complete and with that all of our history and humble beginning have been safeguarded in the distant memories. May Allah accept everyone’s efforts who joined and became part of that journey. As we have started execution of the construction, your masjid needs your support to be able to pay for the committed expense for construction. Please prioritize your contribution for this project so we may complete the project on target (late fall of 20240. Foundation is expected to be poured by mid-April. Structural elements, framing and trusses are next in line following the two weeks after the foundation. We must raise $500,000 in the next 2 months to continue with the planned pace. Please donate to your institution so we may continue to expand our history in this beautiful country.
With salaam,

The last ten days/nights of Ramadan have begun!
Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) reported: “When the last ten nights of Ramadan arrived, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, would tighten his belt (i.e. work hard), spend the night in worship, and awaken his family.”
In another narration, Aisha said: “The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, would exert himself in worship during the last ten nights of Ramadan more so than any other time. (Bukhari & Muslim)
Ibn al-Jawzi said:
“When the race horse knows that it is nearing the end of the track it exerts all of its effort to win the race…For verily, deeds are judged by their conclusions. So if you didn’t do well with welcoming Ramadan then perhaps you will do better bidding it farewell.”
May Allah grant us the guidance to strive towards Allah’s pleasure. May He forgive us and shower all with his mercy and blessing this Ramadan and forever.
